Calvin “Skcooboi Coo” Elliott was born and raised in Dallas, TX where he struggled to be the “man of the house” for his mom and two sisters. Music became his outlet at the age of 7 and began writing his own lyrics at the age of 13. His style is unique and he isn’t your typical M.C. from the South. Skcooboi Coo is more lyrically focused and raps about topics that others are scared too. He has always been equipped with an imagination and creativity; while growing up listening to artists such as UGK, Ghetto Boys, The D.O.C, 8Ball & MJG, and Dallas’ own Erykah Badu became his biggest influences. With much respect to these artists, Skcooboi Coo makes it a point to keep the listeners bobbin’ their heads with his infectious hooks and memorable choruses. Skcooboi Coo doesn’t deviate from the messages he wants to get across but creates images in which everyone can relate through his music. 2011 has been a major year for the artist thus far, he has released his first single “Just Like Water” on iTunes and his first EP entitled “Late But Never Absent” released on June 8, 2011. His new mixtape \"Cadillac Demeanor\" is set to release April 2012. He knows that Hip-Hop has taken a different turn in today’s music industry and believes there are too many Followers and not enough Leaders. He wants to let the critics know there still is content in Rap and Hip-Hop is never dead. So in his own words “I BELIVE IN MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT IN HIP-HOP; IN MY EYES IT’S WAY BIGGER THAN MUSIC!”
